THE HAWAZIN ARE DEFEATED:
ALLAH Almighty chastised the Muslims for daring about their strength and had made them feel the taste the bitterness of defeat after the sweetness of conquest. They had to keep in mind that both come from ALLAH Almighty. The soldiers rushed back, dismounting from camels and taking up their shields and swords. When a huge group of them gathered round the Prophet (PBUH) of ALLAH Almighty, they bore down on the opponent and battle began. Both groups fought bravely and a group of prisoners handcuffed was brought to the Prophet (PBUH) and ALLAH Almighty sent down His angels to help. They filled the whole valley and the Hawazin were defeated. This is referred to in the Holy Quran verse 9:25-26;
ALLAH has already given you victory in many regions and [even] on the day of Hunayn, when your great number pleased you, but it did not avail you at all, and the earth was confining for you with its vastness; then you turned back, fleeing. Then ALLAH sent down His tranquillity upon His Messenger and upon the believers and sent down soldiers angels whom you did not see and punished those who disbelieved. And that is the recompense of the disbelievers.
